Suprising good food for what is obviously a collage bar. The beer selection is one of the better in town and the daily specials are actually a good deal. If you go make sure to try the pizzas as they are an unexpected treat.

Meh, you get what you pay for. Cheap greek and cheap steaks. The gyro was decent and the burger was big, but the overall quality of food was exactly what you would expect from a small diner style restaurant, complete with a sticky, dirty table. As a side note, the only beers they have on tap were bud and miller light. The steaks are rumored to be good, but we won't be back to try them.

Pretty decent greek food, although a tad on the expensive side. If you are a greek food fan, this is one of the best in Columbia, but nothing mind blowing if you have had truely great greek in the past.

A hidden gem in every sense of the word. This tiny cafe only seats 50 or so and the waiting area is a hallway outside, but the cafe atmosphere is fantastic and the food is an excellent value for the price. Their omelets are great and the country ham is incredible. Just a warning, the country ham is listed as a side, but is can easily be a main course. If you are looking for a small cafe to get breakfast with a friend, you won't go wrong, just don't show up with groups of 6 or more.

Chain Mexican restaurant which gives you exactly what you expect. Moderate portions of fairly bland dishes, free chips with watery medium salsa, and vastly overpriced beers just like all the other Mexican chains. If you are jonesing for a Mexican fix it isn't too bad, but it is about as good as you think you would find in Missouri.

One of the best Chinese take out places in Columbia. The portions are huge, easily feeding two people for a full order. Additionally they have the absolute best pot-stickers I have found in this area, make sure you pick up an order or you will be missing out. Finally they actually have college students working the front register so giving your order is quick with no misunderstandings because of a language barrier. If you want take out Chinese you won't be disappointed.

Quinton's is one of those places that is a restaurant by day and a bar by night. I can confirm that the restaurant half is not just for show. The lunch specials are a great deal, especially the soup in a bread bowl served with a half sandwich. I had the Aloha chicken sandwich (chicken, lettuce, grilled pineapple, provolone served in a wrap) with the chili bread-bowl and was pleased with both. The service is a hair slow, but the food and price make it an easy wait. If you get a chance sit on their rooftop deck overlooking downtown. Highly recommended if you are looking for a sit down lunch with friends.

You want assembly line pizza? You came to the right place. Its massive popularity rests solely on its prime location right next to the MU campus. This is not to say the pizza is bad. Just fairly standard. If you want a quick pizza lunch this is one of your best bets. And while it is one of the better pizza locations in Columbia, that's more of a condemnation of the local pizza scene then a recommendation of Shakepeare's. If possible try to get there early and order a custom pizza and avoid the premades.

A small cafe in which they try to have as much as possible locally obtained. The breakfasts are incredible and worth every penny. The service on the fourth of July was atrocious, but they were obviously understaffed (one waiter in the place) and one of the only places that was open. Try their pancakes, apples, and sausage and get ready to have your mind blown. One of the best breakfasts in town hands down.

First review in my new town. Anyway Jazz is a "authentic" Cajun restaurant, meaning if you have had true Cajun you will be sorely disappointed. The Crawfish Etouffee was really good, but the jambalaya was not all that mind blowing. In addition their taps are pretty sub-par for the area. Finally the service was pretty bad, with our waitress forgetting to put in our appetizer and not checking on us once the order was taken (another waiter brought out the food). Pretty good Cajun for the area, but poor service and weak drink lineup means I won't be heading back soon.

If you haven't eating Ethiopian food before be aware that your whole order (everyone at the table) is served in a single large piece of bread. Not for the clean freaks at all as everyone will be dipping their fingers everywhere. If you are OK with that be ready for a fantastic meal that is a blast to eat with friends. The vegetarian dishes truely shine but if you want meat dishes try the beef #13 as it is my favorite. Also any appetizers you order will be brought out on the same bread as your dinner but everything comes out quite quickly. Finally when the menu says serves one/two/three it is pretty accurate, so plan appropriately.

A small brewpub with alot of potential and a couple issues. The beers were good with a smaller selection then other breweries in the area (six brews), but they make up for it with guest drafts. The food is hit or miss. The pizzas are quite good with the BBQ pizza being my favorite. The sandwiches are good, but a little pricy for what you get. The service started poor but has gotten very good over the past few months. The restaurant can get a little loud due to teh layout so large parties be aware. Overall I would recommend for non-beer outings as the food is better then other breweries.

Once again I find myself having to write a split review. In terms of beer, this is hands down the best place in columbia, mo. The microbrews were fine beers by any standard. The green chilli beer was not my cup of tea, but I have to give them credit for experimenting. The food was OK, but nothing to write home about. I had the meatloaf sandwich for lunch and I was very obviously reheated in a microwave. For its price it was bad, but come for beer, not the food.

Great prices but basically frozen pizzas. Good place if you are trying to feed a big group but don't think you are getting top quality pie. However the prices are insanely low.

Stopped in for lunch and had a seat at the bar. Six local brews on tap including some rare finds from the Sugar Creek area. I had the fish and chips with a side of "Colorado chili". Big thumbs up on the chili and big old thumbs down on the fish and chips. The fish were fried beyond crisp and into the rock hard brick category ($14). The chili was excellent, but was absolutely tiny for the price ($5.50 for a cup of soup). The beers stand out as the high point of the meal, but with the number of excellent breweries in the area you are better off going straight to the source. The "Meh" of two stars is very appropriate.

I recently had the chance to sample the fine beers at Breckenridge during a business trip. The bar itself it a nice set up and has ample TV screens (I went during Monday Night Football). The kitchen is open till 10:00 PM and the staff was very friendly (although they were very understaffed for an event like MNF). The food was fairly standard-issue bar food with staples like chicken wings, fries, burgers, etc. Of particular note was the pulled pork sandwich which was excellent. The beer selection is top notch with 15 home brews on tap. While not a top tier dining experience, it is significantly better than your average bar. Finally the prices were dirt cheap for the quality of food and drink to be had. I would highly recommend if you are in the Denver area.

The good - Arguably the best burger in the city.
The bad - Slow service and few waiters.
The ugly - Tiny resteraunt and looooooonnnngggg wait times for tables due to popularity.

The verdict - Go for a late afternoon lunch and enjoy the best burger in Columbus.

Once again a near perfect brewery is laid low by sub par food. My friend's wild salmon pot pie was tastless and barely warm. The halibut fish and chips while passable, was vastly overpriced. That said you may be wondering why I am giving this four stars. It's quite simple, the beer selection is absolutely fantastic and more then makes up for the meal by complimenting your food so perfectly. While you won't go wrong with the sampler, try the barley wine or the belgian tripel, you won't be sorry.

Known as one of the premier meat market bars in Columbus, they are appearently calling themselves a resteraunt based on their atrocious bar food. Having eaten their food drunk and being displeased, I certainly can't recommend it sober. Stay away unless you are looking for a loud, club style bar in which case you already know about it.

So Rock Bottom presents a bit of a issue. On one hand their beer is absolutely incredible. Their Hop Explosion and Lumberjack Red are absolute highlights that you need to try. On the other hand the food left quite a bit to be desired. Stay away from the texas style potstickers (dry and tasteless) in particular. 2/5 for food, 4.5/5 for the brews.
